Bessie Waite

Bessie R. Waite, 91, of Decatur, IL passed away at 1:04 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL.

A service to celebrate Bessie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday (December 5, 2011) at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany, IL.

Mrs. Waite was born on November 26, 1920 in Coles, IL, the daughter of John and Alice (Whitely) Tucker.  She was a Homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur.  She married George Waite on December 21, 1978.  He preceded her in death on September 3, 2010.

Surviving are: one daughter, Esther Disney of Springfield, IL; three step children, Jim Waite and wife Joyce of Hilltop, TX, Terry Waite of Decatur, IL and Sherry Miller and husband Mike of Tuscola, IL; five grandchildren, Michael Turrentine and John Turrentine, both of Troy, TN, Aileen Hutchison of Los Angeles, CA, Ahna Gooch of Springfield, IL and Belinda Gulick of Springfield, IL; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one granddaughter, Angelique Hutchinson.
